02 Jan Choosing Event Suppliers
If you’re planning an event, the chances are that you’re going to need some outside help. Whether you need assistance with the catering, entertainment, decoration, or more, there are plenty of event suppliers to choose from out there. So much so that the choice can sometimes seem overwhelming! We’ve put this blog post together to give you some helpful tips and advice on choosing event suppliers. It can help you make sure that the suppliers you pick are right for you!
Think about your requirements
When you’re choosing event suppliers, the first thing you should do is think carefully about what you need from them. This depends on the type of event you are holding. There are event suppliers out there that specialise in every type of event, as well as those that do a bit of everything. If you’re planning a corporate work event, you probably won’t want to use a supplier who specialises in weddings, and so on! If you have a clear picture of what you want out of your suppliers, it will make the next steps much easier…
Do your research before choosing event suppliers
Secondly, do your research on event suppliers! Now you know what you’re looking for, you can narrow your focus. Make sure that the suppliers you are looking at cover your area and type of event. Also, don’t forget to consider price points (but there will be more on that later). Just knowing what’s out there will be very helpful. From there, you can narrow your focus down to a few suppliers and get in touch with them!
Ask for previous examples
Now you’ve got in touch with some potential suppliers, ask them for previous examples of their work. This will give you a great idea of what they can do for you and your event. You could even ask to be put in touch with their previous clients to talk about what they did to make their event extra special.
When choosing event suppliers, look at their reviews
Another very important thing to look at is your supplier’s reviews. Have a look online and see what others are saying about them and the service they provide. Reviews are probably the biggest indicator as to whether they have a quality service. If you’re looking for their reviews, try Google, Facebook, and TrustPilot, as these are the most common places for customers to leave one. Don’t necessarily be put off by one or two bad reviews. Just look to see how the company have resolved the issue- this will tell you a lot about their customer service! However, as with any other product or service, the reviews should be good overall before you consider choosing them as your event supplier.
Budget is important
As previously mentioned, you should consider your budget when choosing event suppliers! It’s a good idea to have a firm budget set out before you start looking. However, be warned! You want to make sure that your event suppliers are going to make your event better, not worse! So, if you’re looking at suppliers who seem suspiciously cheap, make sure to do thorough research before deciding.
